Angus Mitchell

Co-Owner/Artistic Director

Angus Mitchell, Co-owner of John Paul Mitchell Systems®, has demonstrated with style and grace what it takes to be a true leader in the beauty industry. His father was late legendary hairstylist Paul Mitchell. As the son of the hair fashion icon, Angus’ unique upbringing in the hair industry exposed him to the same passion that inspired his father, leading him to eventually fulfill his destiny in the first family of hair. Educated at Vidal Sassoon, Angus has been able to combine their legendary precision technique with the free creative expression John Paul Mitchell Systems® encourages to craft his own signature style.

He makes his home in Los Angeles, where he has forged his own professional identity as a platform artist, model, and spokesperson for the company, including helping to create and inspire the initial work done by the Equity and Opportunity Council (EOC).

Mara Gourdine

Corporate Culture Ambassador

Ms. Gourdine, a twelve year veteran of John Paul Mitchell Systems, has had her hand in many departments in her time with the privately owned, professional salon hair care giant. From International & Domestic Trade Shows and Events, Marketing and Media, she has brought her knowledge and expertise to each department, leading her teams with clear vision and direction.

As Corporate Culture Ambassador, she thrives in leading health, wellness and corporate culture programs within John Paul Mitchell Systems, as well as onboarding new employees. Mara is the spokesperson for the environmentally-friendly, cruelty-free company at public functions, speaking to its 40-year legacy of caring for the planet and giving back to those less fortunate.

Kristin Firrell

Vice President, Salon Development

Kristin Firrell’s career has been unique and ever-changing, beginning as a salon stylist and evolving over the next 40+ years with a variety of leadership roles in sales, education, training, events, salon management, brand marketing and new product development.
